Gee, I don't know. I don't know if you "claim" to be Christian, but if you do, proove it, by starting to read the Bible, and the book of Matthew on your own, without your pastors foolish imput.
If you would read the Bible, then you would know things like, Where do the dead go? Religions all over teach that all good people go to heaven. Yet, Jesus spoke of a ressurection of the dead. Where would Adam and Eve be now, had they not disobeyed Gods command? Start reading the ENTIREBible, on your own, using your own mind. Only until you do thiese things, will you know the Truth, and you will be better off.
References :
Things change. It is the nature of the universe. Imagine how dreadfully boring life would be were it not for change?
References :
Yes, that's all true. But 50 years ago wasn't all that great, either.

Black people were considered second-class citizens. They had to drink from separate water fountains, use separate bathrooms and go to separate schools.

Women were forced to stay at home and subject to their husbands. Didn't matter if the man was abusive, alcoholic or just worthless--she still had to stay with him.

Sex was around. Lots of people had sex. It was just considered something to be ashamed of back then so there were no real statistics to go by. When a girl got pregnant, she either married the man responsible (if he'd have her) or got a back alley abortion, which could kill her. Or, if her family was wealthy enough, they'd send her out of the country to get a safe abortion or "on vacation" where she'd have the baby, give it up for adoption, return home and no one was the wiser.

Women have ALWAYS been looked as as objects to please men. They had Playboy 50 years ago and their centerfolds, while tame by today's comparison, were considered scandalous.

According to the tone of this message (my grandma has sent the same one to me about five times now) people were better without modern conveniences, such as personal computers. Isn't it rather ironic, then, that the person who wrote this used a computer to bash computers?

Sure, there were some good points about living 50 years ago--people were more active, for sure. But there were still obese people. (My mom knew a few overweight people when she was a child.)

Things change. Things always change. Some for the better, some for the worse. One can sit around and mope about "the good ol' days" and wish them back, but they're not coming back. Rather than looking back, people should look forward. Try to see the good in the changes. Who knows? They might not seem so bad and they may find they like them.
