50 years ago:
Kids went outside and could play all day. They were not worried about.
You didn’t sit around on your butt all day, you got up and went outside and played with your friends instead of playing video games or staying on the computer all day. There were no video games, personal computers, or cell phones.
So many girls were not struggling with anorexia because Hollywood’s image was the body of a normal woman, such as Marilyn Monroe or Maureen O’Hara.
Obesity was not such a problem because, again, you played outside all day, or you had something to do instead of sit.
Sex was not treated as a "fun" thing in the movies or music. There was no bad language in entertainment. In music, women were not looked at as objects to please men, as so many are in music videos today.
When you went out, you dressed up.
Yes, women usually didn’t go to college, and couldn’t do as many things as now, but the women in my life got a hell of lot of respect from us.
Well said. It’s sad how the simple things in life are taken for granted because of the modern conveniences we have.
