If that is who he truly is, then dont try to change him. Maybe you should just tell him to be prepared for ignorant high school kids who are under the influence of total conformity. As you said, its fine to be gay, and its also fine to be a boy that happens to be feminine. High school kids may not understand that yet, but neither of you should let their opinions bother you. The opinion of a follower with no mind of their own is worthless and trivial. Tell him to be himself and find some friends who will appreciate him for what matters, not for his ratings on the popularity scale.
